If you could relive one year of your life, which one would it be?
There are many good times in my life. I had a great childhood, loving parents, and great people who invested in me. I’ve had a great life. It wasn’t perfect. We were poor – I still am; I committed terrible sins, and I have made choices that didn’t go so well for me.
I wouldn’t trade that for anything. It’s God’s story written in my life. Jesus Christ left glory, became a man, died on a cross, and rose from the dead for my sins to save me. I got and continue to get the privilege to enjoy that.

13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, 15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:13–16, ESV)
Paul said:
13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13–14, ESV)
Therefore, while I miss my grandparents, lost loved ones in Christ, and wish I had done some things differently, I still get to look forward to what is best to come. I get to be restored, united with Christ, and live eternally for pleasurable worship. Eternity with Jesus Christ is far better than anything on this fallen world. Since this is true, let us live for that eternity by working for Jesus, sharing the gospel, and looking forward to when Jesus will make all things right.
