What’s something you do completely differently from how you were raised?
I lead my family, my wife and three kids in family worship every night before bed. It doesn’t take long, about five minutes.
We read from the Bible every night. We pick out a passage of Scripture, explain what it means, and show how it applies. This helps the children know the Bible well. They know it better than some deacons.
We sing hymns, read Psalms, and sing spiritual songs. My kids know Jesus loves me by heart. They sing Jesus loves the little children. They also know “Rock of Ages”, “1000 Reasons”, “In Christ Alone.” These songs center the children in knowing Jesus is the most important person in life.
We also pray for the lesson, when meaning of it, and the people in our lives. We also pray for our loved ones to be saved.
Family worship is a huge blessing to our family. I’m glad we started that tradition.
