What’s the weirdest coincidence you’ve ever experienced?
Christians start with God, walks with God, and ends with God. As Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Christians ascribe what people call coincidence as providence. God’s every day working with creation.
One look at providence that seems strange is how I met my wife. At Bible college, I was promised: “ring by spring or your money back.” It was typically a joke, but a joke with some truth behind it. Long story short, no one my age wanted to marry me. I wanted a traditional family where I worked, the wife stayed at home, and we homeschooled our children. I couldn’t find anyone.
Just when I accepted that I was going to be single for the rest of my life working as a pastor, my former roommate texted me. Apparently, his mother had been praying for me to find a wife and the name Cassandra popped into her head. I met her on a blind date and four months later I married her.
We’ve been married for 12 years and have four kids together. We agree on politics and religion, and we homeschool together. She truly is my better half. God knew that she was perfect for me; I just had to be patient and wait. That was some unique providence.
