I’m Writing a Christian Fantasy Novel

Share a hobby you’ve picked up recently — what got you into it?

I just recently started writing a Christian fantasy novel. I’ve always loved Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, and The Chronicles of Narnia. I am in between pastorates right now, so I have a lot more free time on my hands.

I have written many books on theology, the Bible, and hermeneutics. So, I decided to do something different. I enjoy the creative process. Imagine a world where Scripture is a literal power one can wield against evil. In the world I am creating, Scripture, belief, and faith can physically strengthen, heal, and push you beyond the everyday limits.

The story:

The government calls it Tolerance.
The church calls it persecution.
Mark Manson has spent his entire life hiding his faith among the ruins of a fallen nation. When a public execution awakens his anger and tragedy strikes the underground Ecclesia, he is forced onto a path he never wanted.
Guided by legendary warriors of Christ and hunted by the ruthless Mayor Hamartian, Mark discovers a forgotten truth: the Word of God is more powerful than any weapon.
But before he can save his people, he must confront the question that will determine the fate of his soul:
Will he follow Christ, or become the very thing he hates?

I’m currently writing about a thousand words a day. I hope to finish it around October. Then the drafting and sending it to agents will begin.
