I Exercise Very Little

What are five simple exercises to do at home?

Everyone says to exercise. I honestly do very little of it. I actually do chores. I push mow the yard, take out trash, cut limbs on my trees, take out weedy plants, and move rocks in my yard.

Hard work has the same amount of calorie burning potential as exercise. It’s not that I don’t exercise. I play with my kids, have jumping jack competitions, run in the hallway, etc. I’ve bench pressed my children before. It’s pretty fun.

The most fun thing I do is go on long walks with my family. It’s pretty rewarding. The connection, being outdoors, is great.

Yet, while bodily training is of some value, spiritual training is more valuable in every way. I read the Bible, pray, and reflect on Scripture every day. I also lead in family worship. It’s where the most reward comes in.

Bad news: we have all lied, used God’s name in vain, stolen, and looked with lust. We are lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterers at heart. We all deserve to burn in Hell for all eternity.

Good news: God is rich in mercy. He sent Jesus Christ, truly God and truly man, to live a sinless life, die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, and rise from the dead three days later. God calls all people everywhere to repent (turn from sin) and trust in Jesus Christ to save them from sin.

God will seal His people with the Holy Spirit, who keeps His people saved, transforms them from evil to Good, and keeps them holy. God makes everything better.

I made walking sticks for my wife and kids.
