How do you write what people actually want to read?
People want to know the answers to their questions. People have deep questions that require genuine answers. Who am I? Where am I going? What is my purpose? These questions are answered by the Bible. As a student of the Bible, I enjoy giving answers to those people.
Who am I? A person created in the image of God, a unique creation. We are called by God to represent Him on earth and steward His creation. Yet, that image is corrupted by sin. We all inherited a sin nature from Adam and need restored back to our original image.
Where am I going? The Bible tells us this short life on earth is for us to enjoy God and take care of His creation. Because we are thoroughly corrupted by sin, we cannot do that on our own. Therefore, our destination reflects our state. We deserve to go to Hell to pay the penalty for our sins. Yet, if Jesus redeems us from our sins, we get to live with God and enjoy Him forever.
What is my purpose? My purpose is to love God and enjoy Him forever. We feel that, but our sinful pleasures get in the way. Therefore, we often feel we don’t have a purpose or have to make one up. Therefore, we need to repent of our sins and let Jesus give us that purpose again. Christians are called to make disciples, teaching them to observe Jesus’ commandments. We are called to use our gifts to help each other, worship God, and steward creation.
Bad news: we have all lied, used God’s name in vain, stolen, and looked with lust. We are lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterers at heart. We all deserve to burn in Hell for all eternity.
Good news: God is rich in mercy. He sent Jesus Christ, truly God and truly man, to live a sinless life, die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, and rise from the dead three days later. God calls all people everywhere to repent (turn from sin) and trust in Jesus Christ to save them from sin.
God will seal His people with the Holy Spirit, who keeps His people saved, transforms them from evil to Good, and keeps them holy. God makes everything better.
