What’s the most underrated movie you’ve ever watched?
Most Christian movies are cheesy. They have a simple message about faith, God, and fatherhood. Like most Christian movies, this one is based on fatherhood and how to be a good father in a tough world. It has its cheesy moments, but it gets real.
The father has a favorite child, a daughter. However, he is too focused on his job and his own life to do the little things with her. His son is a moody teenager who often feels neglected to the expense of their relationship.
However, the daughter dies. He realizes that he has to rebuild his relationship with God, and his neglected son. It is gut wrenching and shows tough stuff happens in real life and you have to rely on God to get you through it.
I watched this before I lost my first child. It sucker punched me when he did pass away. Yet my faith in God never wavered. God loves us and will see us through the hard times. He showed that through the cross and the resurrection.
Bad news: we have all lied, used God’s name in vain, stolen, and looked with lust. We are lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterers at heart. We all deserve to burn in Hell for all eternity.
Good news: God is rich in mercy. He sent Jesus Christ, truly God and truly man, to live a sinless life, die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, and rise from the dead three days later. God calls all people everywhere to repent (turn from sin) and trust in Jesus Christ to save them from sin.
God will seal His people with the Holy Spirit, who keeps His people saved, transforms them from evil to Good, and keeps them holy. God makes everything better.
