Monty Python and the Holy Grail

What’s the weirdest movie you’ve ever watched?

While it was a hilarious movie, it was pretty strange. I often watched the movie when I was in middle school. It was introduced to me by the pastor’s son. There were several weird and funny elements throughout the movie.

One of those elements is that they never found it. They got arrested by the British police and carried away. Not a satisfying ending to an American middle schooler.

Sometimes our lives are like a strange movie.  Things seem to go wrong all the time. Then we have a moment of satisfaction, and we die. Often we think about what the point is.

The point is we are not the main characters of the story. God is. We are the villains. Satan is the main antagonist. Yet, God wins in the end with His ransomed children who were once His enemies.

Bad news: we have all lied, used God’s name in vain, stolen, and looked with lust. We are lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterers at heart. We all deserve to burn in Hell for all eternity.

Good news: God is rich in mercy. He sent Jesus Christ, truly God and truly man, to live a sinless life, die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, and rise from the dead three days later. God calls all people everywhere to repent (turn from sin) and trust in Jesus Christ to save them from sin.

God will seal His people with the Holy Spirit, who keeps His people saved, transforms them from evil to Good, and keeps them holy. God makes everything better.
