Anytime I Go to Church

What’s a place you visited that felt like home?

Any time I go to church, whether I am visiting or going to my home church, I feel like I am at home. When I am with my spiritual family, I feel more at home than with my biological family.

Blood is thicker than water. Christ’s blood is thicker than family blood. I’m more closely related to my Christian brother in Zambia than my mere biological brother in Illinois. I’m adopted by the King and therefore part of a royal priesthood and a heavenly nation.

If you repent and follow Jesus, you can be a part of that family too. Church is a small taste of heaven before we finally arrive.

Bad news: we have all lied, used God’s name in vain, stolen, and looked with lust. We are lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterers at heart. We all deserve to burn in Hell for all eternity.

Good news: God is rich in mercy. He sent Jesus Christ, truly God and truly man, to live a sinless life, die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, and rise from the dead three days later. God calls all people everywhere to repent (turn from sin) and trust in Jesus Christ to save them from sin.

God will seal His people with the Holy Spirit, who keeps His people saved, transforms them from evil to Good, and keeps them holy. God makes everything better.
